Counselor's Advice to Senior Class

Seniors, please check your final semester grades.  If you did not pass a class you need for graduation, please come see me immediately!  You should receive a copy of your grades in your homerooms on Friday, February 5th.  If you received a D grade and are planning to attend a four year college in the Fall, please contact your colleges and inform them of your grade.  Please retake the course if you can.  If you are unable to retake the course, please explain to the colleges why.

Seniors who are planning to attend a four year college, you should be starting the FAFSA application now.  You can apply for financial aid at www.fafsa.gov.  The deadline is March 2nd.  Cal grants application are also available.  You can get one from the College Career Center or from me.  Please complete it and return it to Ms. Martinez in the College Career Center.  She will mail it out for you.

If you need to send Mid Year reports or transcripts, you can sign up with Ms. Hung in the counseling office to have them sent.  Please do not send your transcripts unless the schools requested them.  If you applied to private schools through the common application on-line, I will automatically send your mid year reports once the fall semester grades get uploaded on your transcripts.

Starting Monday, February 8th, I will start meeting with students to go over transcripts. I will call in one homeroom at a time.  I will also start calling down students with D's, F's and U's.  Parent conferences will be held for low credit seniors on the verge of not graduating.
