My Notes
In order to graduate from high school in the State of California each student is required to pass a swimming class or test. Your child is enrolled in such a class to fulfill this requirement.
1st Period: It is necessary for the class to meet early so that each student has enough time to swim and return to school on time for their next class. Students need to arrive at the pool by 7am and be in the water no later than 7:05am. They will be getting out of the water no later than 7:40am, shower and return to school.
2nd Period: The students need to arrive at the pool no later than 8:30am and be in the water no later than 8:35 am. They will be getting out of the water no later than 9:20am.
Both 1st and 2nd period classes will be meeting 5 days a week.
7th Period: The students will be leaving their 6th period classes at 2:31 pm. They need to arrive at the pool by 2:50pm and be in the water no later than 3:00pm. They will be out of the water by 3:30pm. The reason this class is longer than the morning classes, is because there is no class on Friday's due to staff meetings at Sava Pool.
This schedule works out well for the students and provides for a quality swim class.
MEDICAL NOTES: In extremely rare cases, some individuals may be allergic to chlorine. There are remedies for this. For example, there are various dermatological (skin) creams. If, in fact, a student has an extreme case, and your physician can prove it, notes will only be accepted until the end of the Fall semester. After this time, there will be no exceptions from any Senior. Just because you say to your physician that you have an allergy, does not qualify. Tests should be done!
Be Prepared, Be Safe, and have Fun!!!!!!!!
Things to bring to the pool: Swim suit, towel, padlock, goggles, bathing cap, plastic bag to put suit in after class, comb, brush, deodorant, soap, shampoo, flip flops, and conditioner, lotion (plastic bottles and containers only).
*** Please don't forget to bring underwear if you decide to wear your swimsuit under your clothing in the morning!!!!
