I am a native Californian, born and raised in the Bay Area. I am a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a major study in mathematics. After college, I lived in the Democratic Republic of the Congo for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer, teaching math and science to high school students. I have worked in various fields including accounting and pattern-making in the fashion industry, but mostly I have worked as a math and computer teacher for almost twenty years. I am married and have three children. My interests include traveling, playing the piano, and quilting.
